Our client is a company who prides themselves on having a team who all work well together. They will have you do 4 interviews, 2 of which are with the team and direct managers, in order to make sure they can get a good feel for how you communicate and how you work with others. Everyone in the company can approach anyone else in the company and chat, ask questions, and generally get on the same page about what’s going on. If you like a highly collaborative company where you may talk to developers or the VPE in the span of 5 minutes, then this company could be a great fit.
You will be on the team helping to build and manage the internal and production level systems for our client’s infrastructure. Things like backups, server up time, server availability, optimization, internal and external networking issues will all be in your day to day tasks. This is a 24/7/365 company who doesn’t go down, because it costs lots of money to go down, so you will be integral to the team who makes sure that the company is running smoothly all the time.
This position pays in the range of 65-75k, depending on your experience. Also, there is a right-proper benefits package, often a bonus program based on company and team performance, as well as health insurance and 401k available.
The Necessary Skills
- Deep familiarity with the LAMP stack
- Shell scripting (Bash) and Python
- Ability to apply understanding of networks, protocols, firewalls, routers, and network systems
- Kickstart or PXE, Nagios or similar experience
- Storage and Backup experience Extra stuff that would be cool if you have it: – Virtualization experience
- Internal systems experience with local networks, VOIP, etc
- Database usage, management, and backups
- On call experience
- PHP experience is always a plus
