Software engineers who want to write (more) PHP – Broomfield, CO

Culture

Our client is very intent on finding people who are a great fit for their company both from a technical and a cultural/personality perspective. The first call you do is a culture call, just to make sure! They want people who are excited about the opportunities, interested in their market  and customers, and can get into and out of a technical conversation easily.  This company is also a believer in work-life balance, because they understand that engineers are not machines that you just plug into a chair and feed Red Bull and Cheetos for fuel.

The Job

We’re looking for Mid and Senior level PHP Developers (3+ years) or equivalent in Java, C++, or C who want to learn/do more PHP. You must know the core CS concepts like OOP, extending classes, and be able to speak to how your code is built and why.  Framework developers are interesting, so long as you can work outside the framework.

Benefits, 401k, bonuses based on team and personal achievements

75-105k, based on your experience

“Vacation time” is not a set number of days, it’s take it when you need it

Relocation available

Skills we’re looking for

Good grasp and understanding of basic CS concepts – you need to know how things work and why

Experience with PHP is not required, but a desire to spend all your time there is if you have other language experience

Familiarity with front-end stuff is helpful, but not required – you’ll spend most of your time on server-side work.

Who we are

Candidates, please take note.  We’re a small professional placement firm focused on making a difference in our community and in the world.  We give back literally and figuratively, because it’s the right thing to do.

We don’t identify with the sales-y approach that this industry is known for, and we aren’t pushy. We pride ourselves on having a candid, honest, straightforward conversation around cultural and technical matching.  We also love to understand what you are passionate about.

We focus on making sure that the jobs we discuss are a good match for you AND for the client. This means that if it’s not a great match, we’ll tell you. If it’s a good match, we’ll ASK YOU to decide whether you want to talk to our client, after we tell you who they are and let you do your own research.

We believe our collaborative, honest approach is the right way to do things, and we think you’ll agree.

We do indeed get paid to do our jobs and we’re good at it, but our job is about building out the teams that our clients NEED and not putting butts in seats.  There is no doubt that we are a quality over quantity firm.

We do things differently, on purpose.
